Satan tried to mess with us BUT HE FAILS

omg this week we were trying AGAIN to move because our house is horrible, like, let me explain to you guys what our house is like. there are 3 bathrooms.

bathroom 1: the shower and sink is broken, there is no toilet seat but the toilet works 100%

bathrom 2: the shower kind of works but only if you leave the water super weak because otherwise it shoots out water in every direction other than like, at your body. mostly just at your face. and the whole bathroom. also there is no light. but the toilet works 100%

bathroom 3: the shower is perfect, the light works, but the celing is caving in on us and the toilet doesnt work very well so what you flush always comes back

And like, its a problem in the whole building so repairing just ours wont do anything, this building just isnt very good. so we found a new one. SO QUE everything is going wrong and no one that needs to do things is doing anything so all our stuff is in the new apartment except for us and our mattresses because NO ONE WANTS TO TURN ON OUR ELECTRICITY.

So the whole week we barely worked well because we were all trying to resolve these problems and people were getting mad at us and everyone was super stressed out and ALL OF OUR COMMITMENTS FELL THROUGH EVERY SINGLE ONE.

So we were all really stressed out thinking what on earth were we going to do to prepare ourselves spiritually for the coming of an Apostole that would happen this week because we didnt even have desks to study or like, anything really just mattresses but even so we did everything we could to study all the talks they gave us and read everything they told us to and everything turned out alright.

So. Elder Christopherson came and it was beautiful. Literally I have no idea what to say other than that it was amazing. He left time at the end to answer our questions and HE ANSWERED MINE. Like. I raised my hand and asked my question and he looked me right in the eyes and answered and like WHAT. Literally I never felt so nervous but also good in my entire life. I could really feel that when he answered me, it was literally God's answer for me. And when he bore his testimony I'd never felt more certain of anything in my entire life

I'll tell everyone more about that when I come home. I'm out of time and also I have no idea what to say I'm still prossessing everything but in short a real apostle of the lord came and spoke to us and shook the hand of every one and then answered MY question and told me that God is satisfied with my work. I never felt so good in my entire life.

This week was SO MUCH WORK OH MY GOODNESS. BUT EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL.

WILSON WAS BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY. HIS OLD FRIEND THAT ALWAYS INVITED HIM TO CHURCH CAME ON SUNDAY TO HELP IN THE CONFIRMATION AND HE WAS SOOO HAPPY. happy old people are really cute did you know?

Lots of members said that they remembered again all the feelings they had at their baptisms and it brought back an excitement to share the gospel with everyone which is AWESOME. 

Also Jefferson, an investigator that was kind of running away from us, called us and said he wants to be baptized so thats cool?!? And we're working with Marcelo so that he can recognize that he doesnt need to visit every single church in maceio before being baptized because hes already recieving answers to his prayers/questions so everything is going well.

THIS WEEK WE HAD MORE MIRACLES IRMÃO WILSON IS GOLDEN

SOMEONE FROM THE WARD THOUGHT HE WASNT UNDERSTANDING THINGS AND STARTED ASKING LIKE "ARE YOU REALLY UNDERSTANDING" AND HE FREAKING TOLD US THE WHOLE STORY OF THE RESTORATION AND THE PIONEERS AND COMMANDMENTS AND THE BISHOP WAS JUST LIKE "well alright my friend we can see that you are a man of jesus welcome to the family" and told the other guy to stop asking questions. it was funny.

BASICALLY WILSON IS PERFECT AND WE LOVE HIM. He is already inviting everyone to his baptism. And he gets worried about us because we walk around at night and he worries that something will happen and hes like "i wanted to run after you but i cant walk fast so i stayed here praying that god would protect you two" and we were just like *heart melts* Literally he has like adopted us as children or grandchildren and its so cute.

carnaval is horrible, so we're not leaving the house that much these next few days because EVERYONE IS GONE I THINK THERE ARE EXACTLY 4 PEOPLE IN THE BAIRRO LITERALLY ME AND MY 3 COMPANIONS we walk in the street and we can hear our footsteps ecoing. BUT it ends on wednesday AND WE ARE WORKING TO HAVE 3 BAPTISMS THIS WEEK. Wilson, Jefferson, and Lucas. Wilson is pretty solid but we'll still see witht he other two if theyre ready.

MIRACLES ARE REAL

alright this week was super cool. first of all. sister mazetto and sister custodio were out of the area and our credits ran out so we couldnt call anyone and we had no idea where lunch was. so i was like alright we're gonna pray and eeverything will work out AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF SAID PRAYER LIKE I SAID "PLEASE HELP US FIGURE OUT WHEREE LUNCH IS" AND THE PHONE RANG so i was like clearly god is good and i ended the prayer super fast and it was the member calling to comfirm lunch and basically god is good

then we had like, a really hard week where everything was falling and nothing seemed to go right and we got to church on sunday and we found Wilson, a very old man who walked into one of our lessons in the middle of the week and we thought he hadnt even understood anything, you know? but he was there with bishop when we got there and bishop told us that he said "those girls were in my house and they told me if i prayed and asked god if what they said was true id feel good and i prayed and felt good so im here." and he went ON FOOT like with a walker and everything and he doesnt live that close and we were just like wow. 

Then Marcos showed up. Marcos investigated the church on the internet and showed up to see. he said he loved the message of the restoration and is excited to learn more.

and then Marcelo showed up. Marcelo is super busy all the time, but he felt that he needed to leave more time for god in his life because somethings missing so he started visiting a bunch of churches. and didnt like any of them. so he came here. and he said he liked what he saw so much (looking online) that he made a promise with god that he'll be here every sunday for a month to see if this is really what he wants and he promised to make time for us to  meet with him too. wow.

basically this week was proof that miracles are real when you belieave and also when you work y0our butt off so that something can happen. like. our goal was not to get these specific people to come, you know?but god blessed our efforts and 3 people we werent even teaching showed up and now we're teaching them.

wow so first of all i think last week i said my companion would be sister astorga from mexico. or maybe i didnt say that. idk. i dont remember. probably didnt. BUT i was wrong. my companion is not sister astorga. my companionS ARE sister astorga, sister mazetto, and sister custodio. since theyre the sister training leaders of the sister training leaders theyre always traveling doing stuff, so it was hard for them to (accompanhar omg somebody translate this word for me) like, keep up with the investigators and teach all the lessons and ok idk this word but i think you understood. so we work with them. like, every day or i or sister astorga goes with mazetto, every day it switches so that we know all the people were teaching, and then this week for example me and astorga will (accompanhar) everyone.

 

for those who dont remember my life like i do, mazetto was my 2nd companion and custodio is a sister that like, since the beginning we said we would be companions and all of us were in teh ctm together so this is awesome.

 

literally im so sorry but what is this word because its not accompany no one says that right? idk.

 

anyway, it was an awesome week THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE FOR US TO TEACH LIKE WOW EIGHT PEOPLE CAME TO CHURCH LIKE ITS BEEN A YEAR SINCE IVE SEEN EIGHT NON MEMBERS IN THE SACRAMENTAL WHAT THE HECK WERE GOING TO BAPTIZE ATE O PÓ

we had an awesome lesson with the mom of a few recent converts who like, believes in everythingn we say but also believes that its not true and doesnt want to pray buT THE LESSON WAS SO GOOD YOU KNOW like i was sitting there thinking wow i feel so good if i hadnt already been baptized id jump in the water RIGHT NOW and we had a really good talk about how 1. what matters isnt the other questions you have about specific doctrinal points but literally all you need to know is if joseph was a profet, JUST THAT and everything else falls into place and 2. that you will never recieve an answer without doing something in exchange. and that you dont need to understand the whys of everything. all of that comes with time.

MIRACLES ARE COOL

alright. so we've been trying a new tatict. tactick. tactik. omg. what. strategy. we are talking to everyone and being like "hey, we're representatives of jesus christ and he sent us here to bless your home" and if they accept and afterwards start asking what church we belong to and when we'll come back we know their interested. but if not, they arent. its been super cool!

one lady cried. like. a lot. because she loved us so much.

another said we were the answer to her prayers and she felt much better after.

and we found lucas, who's best friend is on a mission in japan and he isnt going to his church right now and i left him super curious about why there are so many churches that teach everything so differently if god said there was only one and basically YES NEW INVESTIGATOR THAT TOTALLY WILL GO TO CHURCH

literally, i felt the spirit so Strong when we did this. even with the peoplke that didnt want anything afterwards. i know that we're here as representatives of christ, nothing less, and we're here to do what he would do if he were here, and this is something he would do. literally this is being so cool.

also god loves his children because i tried to call a less active member here in chã de bebedouro and instead managed to call a less active member in canaã which is part of my old área jardim do horto, and he said he'll go this sunday! like, literally that was impossible how that happened. wow am i greatful that i called every single member on our list this week (i called so many people i am so tired of the phone now never again). our phone doesnt work. like, where we are the carrier Claro doesnt work well so NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND US. the secretary gave us a second chip to see if it got better, like, if it was a ploblem with our line but it didnt get any better. we understand everything but we cant say anything most of the time.

what else? idk. this computer sucks. presidente hit me the other day that was cool. not HIT me hit me but like, i said i was going to call lots of people and use all our credits since it was the last day and he hit me and was like "se liga (idk what htis is in english like...get with the program? idk) youve got two chips thats twice the credits CALL EVERYONE" and i was like "well. ok" and used everything.

MILAGRES DE UM BOM TRABALHO

this week SUCKED because we spent most of the week without water. President let us spend two days in ganuza's house because, like, that was not going to end well (my companion recovering from worms and not being able to flush the toilet was not something I was willing to live through)

so. we did a dumb thing. we played uno where who loses has to drink a cup of water. and i think we drank like 4 liters each something like that idk WOW I ALMOST DIED. sunday i didnt manage to eat anything at all and i ended up laying on the floor in the members home at lunch because i was not having it.

but even though we were literally dying we were like "wow with everything this week we barely worked so we HAVE TO WORK TODAY" so we did and guess what happened. WE GOT 17 REFERRALS IN ONE DAY WHAT THE HECK. so this week all we gonna do is freaking contact these referrals and its gonna be great because now we have a place to start. Literally I believe so strongly that god blesses us when we sacrifice for him because we only got these referrals because we went out to work even though i was very much convinced that i was going to throw up 3 litros of water

SO THIS WEEK WE HAVE SOME AWESOME PLANS TO BE ABLE TO SEND A GOOD EMAIL NEXT WEEK. itll be awesome. just wait and see.

im famous

alright so we didnt work this week because my companion had worms which was fun. literally worms is the worst thing ever if i ever get worms pls kill me.

BUT at the end of the week we managed to go out and we visited like all of the members who thought we were mad at them because we werent visiting anyone....oops. but we visited everyone and now they all like us again #success. and on sunday we found  A TON OF LESS ACTIVE MEMBERS THAT STILL HAVE TESTIMUNIES WOOOOHOOOOO for sure they'll become active again!! this ward is really needing that right now so it'll be good for us.

what else. oh. last monday i went crazy.

like, I was getting so ugly I'm not a pretty blonde and my hair was not looking too great after 15 months in brazil

so i chopped it all off.

and died it red.

and so today this dude stopped me in the street and was like "wow youre pretty are you brasilian is this your natural hair wow omg wow" and i was like "um no tchau" and he was like "oh its because im a photographer and im doing a project on redheads from alagoas(the state im in)" and basically my companion almost died laughing

and people keep staring at me. like. they already did. but idk. maybe i shouldnt have done this.
